MECPATHS was established in 2013 and works to raise awareness on the issue of Child Trafficking in Ireland.

It does so through the education of emerging and current professionals who, through the nature of their work, are more likely to come into contact with at risk. MECPATHS educates on the issue (know it), the indicators of child trafficking (see it), and how to report it (say it).

Through communications and networking, MECPATHS develops collaborative relationships with other actors involved in similar work including NGOs, service organisations and other anti-trafficking networks. Through advocacy, the project seeks to influence those involved in legislation, policy-making and its implementation, for better responses in recognising and responding to child trafficking, and implementing enhanced protective measures.
