Picture Your Rights - Children's Report to the UNCRC
We went to Geneva in June 2015 to talk to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child on the State's progress in implementing the rights in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the young representatives who accompanied us took their place alongside the Committee members and gave a presentation on Picture Your Rights, a report from and written by children living in Ireland. They spoke about the work involved in bringing together the publication and the critical issues highlighted in the report which young people in Ireland face.
Alongside UNICEF and the report's young authors, we officially launched Picture Your Rights on 10 June 2015, and presented the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Dr. James Reilly TD with a copy of the innovative report into children’s rights in Ireland. It offers a unique snapshot into life as a young person in Ireland today, highlighting critical issues such as mental health, bullying and direct provision.
